163 Years of Cromer Lifeboat Coxswains to go on display
After visiting over 100 lifeboat stations in the UK Rita Hinds (pictured), Chairman’s wife and Cromer Visits Team, noticed that at every lifeboat station there was a Coxswain Board giving the history of every coxswain serving the local station. Rita then felt it was time that Cromer Lifeboat Station should have a coxswain board, so she took a picture of the Tenby Coxswains Board in 2018 and presented her proposal to the Cromer Lifeboat Crew who supplied the funds for the board. Roger Sutton, Deputy Launch Authority designed and produced the graphics for the Cromer Coxswain Board, which was painted and framed by Mike Wass, Deputy Launch Authority. The history of the coxswains was supplied by Paul Russell, a retired crew member to enable to keep the history of the coxswains, especially the Davies family to be on permanent display. The boards will be on display at the All Weather Lifeboat Station and the Inshore Lifeboat Station when allowed to re-open to the public.
