Service 24th June 2007

The Royal Shipwright was launched at 8.15am on 24 June 2007 to reports of a fire on board the tug H T Blade approx 2.5 miles off Cromer. On reaching the scene the lifeboat, alongside the vessel RMS Riga, used their hoses to cool the tug. The relief ILB John Kennedy also launched to take out further equipment. Firefighters were later airlifted onto the tug by RAF helicopter Rescue 125. At about 5.00pm, 2 tugs arrived on scene to tow the stricken vessel to Lowestoft, and the lifeboat was released to return to station.
