Inshore Lifeboat launched to reports of a person in the water.

Following a request from the UK Coastguard, RNLI Cromer launched its inshore Lifeboat ‘George and Muriel’ at 6 17pm. A person in the water a mile off the Doctors Steps had been reported.

The lifeboat and crew were stood down ten minutes later once the police had arrived. By 6 30pm the lifeboat returned to station and was soon being washed down and made ready for its next launch.

Richard Leeds, Cromer RNLI Lifeboat operations manager said, ‘Although we weren’t needed to help someone in the water, we were available to assist the emergency services’.
